Learn How How to Draw a Bird
Birds are hard creatures to capture on paper. They are fast and fleeting, rarely giving an artist time to fully
draw them. Though, there are some basic rules, when drawing birds, that can make the process much more quick and end in better results.
Basic Shapes
The first thing an artist needs to realize about birds is that they are made almost completely out of circles. Take a look at my sketch of a wood thrush and you will see what I mean. Notice that the head, without the nuisance of feathers, is a small egg shape lain sideways on an oval body.
When drawing your bird remember the basic shapes rule and start with a very quick, basic render. Then, lay over these shapes with feathers. The feathers don’t need to be drawn one by one. Give a general suggestion of feathers with long strokes of your pencil. Only draw the very important feathers, the ones that stand out the most. Read more of this Pet and Animal Post
The Best Pets for Small Children
Over the years parents have continuously turned to pets to help teach their children valuable life lessons. By including a pet in your family you will teach them responsibility, how to love, how to care for animals, to have compassion, and when the inevitable happens, how to grieve. Many argue that introducing children to such things at an early age can be too much for them, but I have to disagree here as I have had nothing but positive results from having pets as a child myself, as well as giving my child pets of her own. Christian The Lion
Christian left the Kora Reserve in 1973. He made his new territory along the Tana river, but when the Wakamba herdsmen kept bringing their livestock to his hunting ground, he moved on. George Adamson said in his autobiography, “I used to count the days on which we hadn’t seen Christian, but when they reached 97, I gave up recording them in my diary.” Because a lion can live from 12 to 15 years in the wild, Adamson believed that Christian ended his days in the Meru National Reserve only a few miles up river.

The Truth About Commercial Pet Food
A tragic conspiracy is underway in this country and it is the voiceless innocent who are made to suffer. Many veterinarians say that feeding commercial dog food to your beloved pet is cutting its very life short! Leading dog-health authors continue to warn us about the deficient nutritional value and often poison-tainted content of commercially produced dog foods.
On top of the less than nutritionally fulfilling ingredients that go into commercial dog foods, there is the added danger of the chemical preservatives added to the mix. These chemicals are added to prolong the shelf life of these foods in the store, regardless of the detrimental effects it may have on the health of the animals that consume it. In order to maximize profits the dog food manufacturers have to make their product last as long as possible. It is a well-known fact that these chemicals are dangerous but to the big dog food companies it is money, not your pet, that is the most important concern. Read more of this Pet and Animal Post
